Adobe Scan, the scanning app has been updated with new features that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help you easily discover documents in your photo gallery. The new feature allows you to find documents on your phone without the need to scroll through other content in your gallery. It uses built-in optical character recognition and Adobe Sensei technology to scan for receipts, forms, pictures, and business cards.
For easy discovery, the app turns the documents into searchable PDFs that can be shared. The app also works with Acrobat and you can add comments, signatures, and export them to Microsoft Office, The Verge notes. You can also find files by searching for their name or date. For iOS devices running iOS 11, the Adobe Scan app can be accessed through the Files app. On Android, you can access the scans when offline.
Adobe Sensei is the company’s new push towards AI. It was announced last year and refers to a set of services that Adobe would deploy across its products as and when applicable.
In addition to adding the new ability of easy search for documents, Adobe has reportedly also improved image cleaning in the app, making the scans look clearer. By subscribing to Adobe’s Document Cloud, you can also edit and organize documents, and digitally sign and send documents from any device.
