Meant to accompany the Razer Phone, they can be easily plugged into any other device that has a USB-C jack.

Last year Apple decided to get done with the headphone jack, and this year the likes of Pixel 2 duo followed course. And the two companies didn’t just make it inconvenient to listen to music on the smartphones, but they also made it expensive with the AirPods, and the Pixel Buds. While the iPhone 7 and beyond still have no option but to go for either another true wireless earphone or one that connects via the lightning port, there may be good news for other smartphones that come with a USB-C jack. Razer has released a new pair of USB-C buds called the Razer Hammerhead USB-C, which may be an option you could consider for your 3.5mm port-less phone.
Although, these headphones are made to match the Razer Phone, you can easily plug them into any other device that has a USB-C jack. The earbuds are fitted with 10-mm drivers, and acoustic chambers to deliver “deep, distortion-free bass,” according to the company.
Further, the Razer Hammerheads include an in-line remote and mic along a flat cable, which is meant to reduce the irksome tangling of the chords. They’re also magnetic, so you can snap them together when not in use. The buds come in a neon green and black color. It comes along a custom carry case and is available for $79.99 (Rs 5,200 approximately) from the Razer store, joining the Bluetooth and Lightning versions released earlier this year.
Although not an ideal comparison, with the Google Pixel Buds being wireless, but for someone who wants an earphone for their Pixel 2 smartphones, that also fits their budget, the Razer Hammerheads is an option. For perspective, it is pertinent to mention, that as opposed to the almost $80 price tag of the Razer earbuds, the Pixel Buds are priced almost double at $159 (Rs 10,000 approximately).

Priced at £699 (approximately Rs 60,000), the smartphone went on sale via Razer’s online store and offline retailers. Now, the smartphone is available via Microsoft’s online store as well. Carrying the price tag $699 (approximately Rs 45,400), this edition of the Razer Phone is compatible with Microsoft Launcher app, and features the green Razer logo.
It’s quite interesting that Microsoft has started selling Android OS smartphones through its online store. Just recently, Microsoft added the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones to its product list. This Razer Phone however comes with support for Microsoft Launcher, which allows users to sync their smartphones with a Microsoft account, and access it across different devices. You can access your photos, docs, and even web pages of your Android smartphone on a Windows PC.

Razer Phone specifications, features

The Razer Phone features a 5.72-inch Quad HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor paired with 8GB of RAM. Also on offer is 64GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Razer Phone sports a dual-camera setup which includes a combination of 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors. On the software front, it runs on near-stock Android Nougat, with an update to the latest version of Android 8 Oreo promised early next year. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, and NFC. In particular for gamers, the Razer Phone features a dynamic, adaptable 120Hz display refresh rate called Ultramotion. Razer smartphone leaked ahead of November 1 launch: What we know so far

October 16, 2017 0

Razer's rumored gaming smartphone sports a look slightly similar to the Nextbit Robin.

Razer launch event November 1
Razer recently teased the launch of a smartphone, which has created quite a buzz. Razer is expected to launch a gaming smartphone at its event scheduled to take place on November 1. Other than a teaser, there wan’t anything else leaked on the rumored smartphone. Until now that is. A fresh new leak has now arrived showing the alleged Razer smartphone’s design. It has also shown up on benchmarking website GFXBench.
According to Slovakian website TechByte (via GSMArena), the smartphone was acquired by a source from the gaming industry. The smartphone is photographed with its back panel shown. Based on the image, the Razer smartphone sports a dual-camera setup placed at the top-left corner alongside a LED flash. On the right side, the volume rocker is visible. We can also see Razer’s logo which is placed at the center of the rear chassis.
Razer gaming smartphone
Judging by the design, the smartphone does resemble the Nextbit Robin somehow with the geometrical edges and the camera placement. Razer acquired the short-lived smartphone brand, Nextbit earlier this January. Ever since the acquisition there have been speculations and hints dropped of Razer possibly launching a gaming smartphone.
In terms of specifications, the Razer smartphone will feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz, and paired with Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone is also expected to come with 8GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.
In the photography department, the Razer smartphone is listed with a 12-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording capabilities. Up front, it will possibly house an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. On the software front, the smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat which would be ‘Android Razer Edition’.
While the leak does seem quite convincing, it’s safe to take it with a grain of salt. Till now, nothing has been officially confirmed by Razer. The company is known for its gaming accessories, and crazy three screen monitors as well. It’s exciting to see what Razer can bring to the smartphone world.

Razer could launch a gaming smartphone on November 1

October 13, 2017 0

Razer has teased the launch event which hints on a possible gaming smartphone.

Razer launch event November 1
Razer, a pioneer in PC gaming accessories, laptops and desktops will possibly launch a gaming smartphone soon. Razer has teased an event set to take place on November which it says will be the company’s “biggest unveiling”. The teaser image shows a guy holding a device which looks like a smartphone. More expectations come from Razer’s acquisition of the failed smartphone brand Nextbit earlier this January.
Other than the teaser image, there is no information whatsoever on Razer’s expected smartphone. There is a link shared which will possibly be the livestream link for the launch event. You can also choose to sign up by providing details to stay updated on Razer’s latest device. After Razer bought Nextbit earlier this year, speculations started rising on the gaming company possibly launching a smartphone. Razer confirmed to TechCrunch that it would develop smartphones under the Nextbit brand but didn’t provide a timeframe.
Nextbit made waves with the launch of Robin, the first cloud-based smartphone. It however failed to garner enough sales as expected. With the acquisition, Nextbit stopped selling Robin and accessories, but still continued support. In fact, Robin users received Android 7.0 Nougat update this June. Although bets are high on a gaming smartphone, Razer could very well just unveil a regular smartphone but with advanced software features. ALSO READ:
Razer currently has the coolest gaming accessories which range from mouse, keyboards to laptops and PCs. The company also launched the world’s first triple-monitor gaming laptop at CES 2017. The crazy 17-inch triple-monitor laptop offers 4K display resolution, and is powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU. With such products, it wouldn’t be surprising for Razer to launch a gaming smartphone.
Currently, the smartphone industry hasn’t explored the gaming scene quite aggressively with more focus put to other features. For a mobile gaming experience smartphones with good battery, crisp display and powerful processors are relied on. These can only be expected from flagship smartphones like the Galaxy S8 duo and OnePlus 5.
But with popular PC games like Grand Theft AutoFIFAHalf-Life 2, and XCOM are available on smartphones it would be great to delve further into this area. A Newzoo  report even states that the gaming industry is expected to gain 42 percent sales from smartphones and tablets. In comparison, sales from games for PCs and consoles are expected to be around 31 percent.
