New details about the Redmi Note 5A emerge online.
According to leaked images by Slashleaks, the Redmi Note 5A sports a metal unibody. One major difference is the absence of a fingerprint scanner at the rear. There’s a single rear camera with an LED flash. The Xiaomi logo is placed at the bottom end with antenna lines running at the top and bottom of the device. The power and volume rocker buttons aren’t clearly visible in the image, but it’s expected to be placed on the right-hand side. At the bottom, there is a micro USB port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Redmi Note 5A is expected to have a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280. It’s likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.4 GHz. The SoC will be paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built memory. The phone might come with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. The device might be armed with a 3,080mAh battery. On the camera front, it might sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel snapper in the front for selfies and video chats.
The phone is expected to be announced alongside the Redmi Note 5 series. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 series will follow the Redmi Note 3 and Redmi Note 4. If previous launches are anything to go by, Xiaomi could very well launch a few other variants of the Redmi Note 5 as well. The launch dates for these smartphones isn’t known yet. Looking at Xiaomi’s track record, we can expect the smartphone to launch early next year.
As of now, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its first dual-camera smartphone in India. While the company hasn’t revealed its launch plans yet; rumors mills hint at the launch of the Mi 5X. In China, the smartphone is available for RMB 1,499 (approximately Rs 15,000). If launched in India with the same price tag, the Mi 5X will compete with the likes of the Honor 6X, Coolpad Cool 1 and LG X Cam to name a few.
