‘Despatico’ overtakes ‘See You Again’ as most watched YouTube video

Despacito has risen to the top of the YouTube chart in just seven months.

Despatico by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee has managed to become the most watched, and most streamed YouTube video in just seven months. The song is managing to rake in over 15 million views each week, and is still going strong. The little over four-minute song currently has 3,056,060,240 views on YouTube. The song is in Spanish and yet, it has managed to become an internet sensation with people all over the globe.

The song has multiple versions with the second-most popular version being the one featuring Justin Bieber, which has over 500 million views. It is the second Spanish song after 1996 Macarena to make a global impact, and be popular in all countries. The song is wildly popular in 45 countries, and is also the top song on Spotify and Apple Music. Despatico, which translates to ‘Slowly’ in English has been streamed over 4.6 billion times. The song was first uploaded in January, and has so far been the quickest to reach such large numbers on YouTube as well as other streaming apps.
