Xiaomi will be finally bringing its bezel-less smartphone to India on October 10. Called the Mi MIX 2, the device is the successor to the original Mi MIX which never crossed shore. Now, while it is confirmed that the second-generation smartphone is making its debut in the country, the company has released a couple of videos teasing features of the smartphone.
Mi MIX 2 was launched in China last month and boasts an impressive, bezel-less display. It features a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) display with 403ppi pixel density. Under the hood, it is powered by 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC with Adreno 540 GPU paired with 6GB of RAM. It is fueled by a 3,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
The videos in particular tease the design language and hardware prowess of the Mi MIX 2. Unlike other smartphones in the flagship category, the Mi MIX 2 does not feature a dual-camera module. There is only a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera. On the software front, there’s Android Nougat-based MIUI 9.
Other features include global LTE support, rear fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth, USB, GPS, and 4G VoLTE support. Once announced, the Mi MIX 2 will potentially sit against the upcoming Apple iPhone X, which boasts an all-glass design with narrow bezels. The premium smartphone launched alongside the iPhone 8 lineup, but is expected to make its debut in India on November 3.
