OnePlus 5
Clearly one of the leading smartphones in the premium category, the OnePlus 5is priced from Rs 32,999. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD AMOLED display and is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB/8GB of RAM. You further get a pair of 16-megapixel+20-megapixel cameras at the back, with a 16-megapixel camera up front for selfies and video calling. The OnePlus 5 is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery, and in a recent test, its fast charging capacity surpassedthat of the Apple iPhone 8 Plus.
Nokia 8
The latest flagship smartphone from HMD Global’s portfolio, Nokia 8 brings similar features as the OnePlus 5, albeit with a special ‘Bothie’ mode. The mode uses cameras on the front and back to allow you simultaneous video recording, live, or still capture. It is priced at Rs 36,999, and features a 5.3-inch QHD display, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Nokia 8 also comes with a dual-camera setup with a pair of 13-megapixel sensors.
Apple iPhone 6S
Although an old member from Apple’s stable, the iPhone 6S will fit the bill just right if you are mulling a switch to the iOS ecosystem. It is one of the first smartphones from Apple to feature 3D Touch. There’s a 4.7-inch LED-backlit HD display and A9 processor running under the hood. If you buy the base model with 16GB of internal storage, then it will cost you Rs 39,985, but if you really want to splurge and have more storage then you will have to shell about Rs 4,900 more for the 32GB model.
Samsung Galaxy S7
Another oldie, but still going strong. BGR India awarded the Samsung Galaxy S7as the best flagship smartphone of 2016 and its mention in our list today undoubtedly means it is still a great value for money phone to buy. Available at Rs 39,400, Samsung is offering a one-time screen replacement scheme on the smartphone. As for specifications, the Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch quad-HD display and is equipped with Exynos 8890 64-bit SoC with 4GB of RAM. For optics, there’s a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
The newest kid on the block, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 adds to the crowding segment of bezel-less phones. It is the company’s first bezel-less phone to debut in India, and if you want to upgrade to a fancy-looking smartphone then the Mi MIX 2 might be a good choice. It features a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it runs the same SoC as the OnePlus 5 and Nokia 8, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of default storage. However, you don’t get a dual-camera module on the phone. It is equipped with a single 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor at the back and up front, there’s a 5-megapixel camera. The phone will cost you Rs 35,999 and it will be available starting October 17.
