Is that really an alien spotted on Google Maps?
Google Maps is no doubt a huge help when looking for a particular place, but it is sometimes more than that. But sometimes when exploring the world around you, there are chances that you will spot something creepy or weird. One such bizarre thing was recently spotted, and not surprisingly, it has gone viral.
An image doing the rounds of the internet shows a screen grab of an alleged alien sunbathing. Reported by express.co.uk, the alien is seen wearing a tie-dye T-shirt, and matching bandage. The location is still unknown. While this doesn’t suggest or confirm anything, this definitely isn’t the first time Google Maps has allegedly “spotted” an extra-terrestrial entity. Recently, in Australia, a strange triangle dotted with bright lights appeared in the middle of a field. The ufologists were quick to call it a “triangle UFO”.
In another such case, Google Maps showed a murder in Belo Horizonte, in the State of Minas. The image shows dead body covered in a black plastic, surrounded by the military police. The images were later removed from Google Street View.
It’s not just Google Maps either, turns out Google Earth is also capable of making strange mistakes. Earlier this year, Google Earth showed an American woman a picture of her mother, 18 months after she had passed away, watering the plants outside her home in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
Google’s Maps recently got a redesign aimed at make it quicker and easier for users to find places. As part of the change, Google Maps will now only highlight points of interest that might be relevant. Google has also updated the color scheme, and added new icons to help users identify exactly what kind of point of interest users are looking at.
